1. Open the Idea Pin
Open the Pin itself, not the board or profile it appears on. Multi-page Idea Pins usually show page indicators or play as a sequence.
2. Copy the Pin Link
Tap the share icon and choose Copy link. A pinterest.com/pin/ URL and a short pin.it link both work.

4. Review the Files
The tool reads the public Pin page and lists the media it contains. On this page, it shows story pages and video files. A converted Idea Pin usually appears as one or more MP4 files at different resolutions; a Pin that still has its pages shows each page's image or clip separately.
5. Download One File or All of Them
Tap any file to save it. When there is more than one, the Download all button saves each file one after another. Your browser may ask once whether to allow multiple downloads from this site.
What Happened to Pinterest Idea Pins and Story Pins?
Pinterest launched multi-page Story Pins, renamed them Idea Pins, and then, in May 2023, announced it was combining Idea Pins and standard Pins into a single Pin format. Knowing this helps explain what you will get when you download one.
Story Pins Became Idea Pins
Story Pins and Idea Pins are the same format under two names. Each one could hold several pages, and each page could be an image or a short video clip, with text overlays, stickers, and music on top.
Idea Pins Merged Into Standard Pins
After the 2023 change, Pinterest has one Create Pin flow for images, video, and multi-image posts. Features that used to be exclusive to Idea Pins, such as music and editing after publishing, became available on regular Pins.
Multi-page Idea Pins that were already published were converted to video. That is why most of them now download as a single MP4 rather than as separate pages.
Where the Name Still Appears
Pinterest still uses the Idea name for a paid ad format, and many people still call any multi-page or slideshow-style Pin an Idea Pin or story Pin. This tool accepts any of them; it simply lists whatever media Pinterest serves for the link.
Why Can't You Save Every Page of an Idea Pin on Pinterest?
Pinterest's own Save button adds a Pin to one of your boards; it does not put a file on your device. Pinterest did add a download and share option for Idea Pins in 2022, but it produces a watermarked video that stitches all the pages together and ends with a card showing the creator's name, and it only works when the creator allows it. There is no built-in way to save each page as its own original image or clip.
The Manual Workaround
Without a downloader, the only way to keep individual pages is to step through the Pin and screenshot or screen-record each one. That is slow, it captures the interface along with the content, and the result is limited to your screen's resolution.

Separate Pages or One Video: What Will You Get?
It depends on how Pinterest currently stores that particular Pin. The tool does not split a video into pages or combine pages into a video; it gives you what is there.

Text overlays, stickers, and music that were added in Pinterest's editor are part of the video when Pinterest has rendered them into it. They are not separate files the tool can remove or extract.

Direct Pin Links and pin.it Links
Both a full pinterest.com/pin/ URL and a short pin.it link work. The tool follows a pin.it link to the full Pin automatically.
Links That Are Not Supported
These URLs do not point to one Pin, so the tool cannot tell which Idea Pin you mean:
- Board and profile URLs.
- Search, Explore, and Today tab URLs.
- Pins on secret boards or other private content.
- Incomplete or mistyped URLs.

Copy the Pin link from the Pinterest app, paste it here in Chrome or another browser, and download the files. They save to your Downloads folder.
iPhone and iPad

Windows and Mac

If you paste a Pin that has no story or video media, the tool says so and shows whatever it did find, so you can still download it.
Why Isn't My Pinterest Idea Pin Downloading?
Most problems come from the link, the Pin, or the browser.
I Only Got One Video, Not Separate Pages
That Pin has been converted to video, or was published as a slideshow. Pinterest no longer stores its pages as separate files, so the MP4 is the complete Idea Pin.
Download All Only Saved One File
Your browser probably blocked the extra downloads. Look for a prompt or an icon in the address bar asking to allow multiple downloads, allow it, and try again. You can also download each file individually.
The Tool Says the Pin Has No Story Media
The Pin is a standard image, GIF, or carousel Pin. The tool shows what it found instead; you can download it here or use the matching tool.
You Copied a Board or Profile Link
Open the Idea Pin itself and copy its link from the share menu.
The Pin Is Private or Deleted
Private and removed Pins are not publicly reachable, so the tool cannot access them.
Where Are Downloaded Idea Pins Saved?
Your browser decides. On Android, check your browser's download list or the Downloads folder. On iPhone and iPad, check Files, then Downloads. On Windows and Mac, open the Downloads folder in File Explorer or Finder, unless you have set a different download location.
Do You Need Pinterest to Download an Idea Pin?

Is It Legal to Download Pinterest Idea Pins?
Downloading an Idea Pin and having permission to reuse it are separate questions. The creator usually owns the photos, clips, and text in their Pin, and a public Pin does not give everyone the right to repost it.
Saving for Reference
Keeping a recipe, tutorial, or DIY guide for your own offline reference is different from publishing someone else's work. Backing up Idea Pins you created yourself is also a common reason to download them.
Reposting and Commercial Use
Before reposting a downloaded Idea Pin on TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else, or using it commercially, get permission from the creator. Music added in Pinterest's editor may carry its own licensing restrictions outside Pinterest.
